Teaching Philosophy

His pedagogical philosophy lies in the decolonial epistemological framework. Dr Bhattacharya tries to inculcate among the students a South Asian knowledge system through both the development of critical thinking and necessary skill-based training.

Bio

Dr Bhattacharya is currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Media Studies and Sociology at Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts. He previously worked in the media industry for many years, covering primarily indigenous and marginalised people of India. His works were published across media outlets, including The Indian Express, Outlook Magazine, and The Wire. His reportage and analytical pieces bridge the gap between academic sociological inquiry and mainstream journalism.
